When I want to get away from everyone…(quite often as I am 14) I retreat to the beach, where I enjoy walking and throwing stones… this is perfect in the winter, because the beach is so empty.

Colwell is my favourite place to go; the beaches are really sandy which makes it perfect for a game of football or beach rugby. My favourite places to eat are Captain's Cabin for a bowl of cheesy chips or Crusoe's for a chips and a cheese toastie.

If you are a little daring you can bring your mountain board and shoot down the Downs (supervision strongly recommended)

Mountain biking is my life and with so many routes there is nothing better than hopping on my bike and going to one of so many off road cycle tracks. I regularly ride to from my house to the Needles via the Warren where I continue to Freshwater Bay for an Ice Cream on the beach.
 

I am 8 years old and the best thing about living here is going to the beach. Throwing stones is my favourite thing to do. Sometimes mum and dad have a barbeque on the beach and we just mess around in the water and catch crabs or play with a ball until it gets dark. I like to build sandcastles. When it is cold I love to swim in our pool and then sit in our hot tub, its really warm . In the garden we have a big trampoline and sometimes I spend ages just bouncing and lazing around. Right opposite our house we have a fabulous climbing tree, I like to go here with my friends, brother and sister and climb up into the branches. Cheesy chips on Totland Pier are great for lunch and we like to look at all the boats coming by.
 

Hi, I am 11 years old. I like walking up to the park or to the shop to buy sweets! I Iove crabbing just down on the beach, we stand on the rocks and lower in our lines, after we have caught a few we let them go down the sand and the first into the water wins. My friends and I sit in our hot tub and play cards. When it’s really windy we go up onto the Downs and fly kites, Mum takes soup and hot chocolate and we have a winter picnic. Most of all I like being in our garden, making daisy chains and playing.
